Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by the presence of obsessions, compulsions, or both. These symptoms can be distressing, time-consuming, and have a significant impact on daily functioning.

While it's normal for everyone to experience occasional worries about germs, losing something, or someone getting hurt, these thoughts are typically fleeting and don't interfere with everyday life. However, if these thoughts become persistent, uncontrollable, intrusive, and cause excessive anxiety or stress, they may be considered 'obsessions'.

In the same way, it's common for individuals to feel the need to double-check locks or arrange items in a particular way. However, if these actions become ritualistic or are performed with rigid rules in an attempt to prevent or reduce anxious thoughts, or they significantly disrupt one's life, they may be considered 'compulsions'.

This application is specifically designed to assess symptoms of OCD through an 18-question test that is supported by scientific research. The test utilizes the Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory - Revised (OCI-R), which is a widely-used screening questionnaire in both research and healthcare settings. The OCI-R is also useful for monitoring OCD-related symptoms throughout the course of treatment.

The OCD Test app provides four useful tools:
